Retouches

This is a picture of a retouches.
Retouches are necessary when receiving semi-permanent eyebrow makeup. At I-Brauhaus-Boston, we make certain that you are receiving your retouches at the proper time to get you the perfect results. Our bodies naturally want to expel pigment and other objects that are not natural to our own bodies. Due to this reason before and aftercare is imperative, but it’s also equally important to have retouches done six to eight weeks after the initial procedure. Everyone heals differently at different rates. Due to different eyebrow fullness, shape, color, and skin pigment, your body may react and hold ink different than someone else. This is why our licensed professionals will individualize your experience and take into account different aspects of your appearance and lifestyle.

Timeframe
Retouches will eventually happen after the initial appointment, but each client is different, so each timeframe is different. A touch up is necessary, but doesn’t require as much time as the initial appointment. Touch ups happen around four to six weeks after the original application. Without the touch up, pigment on the eyebrow will fade after three months. During this timeframe, you will experience microblading scabbing which is natural part of the healing process. During this time frame, it’s important that you follow all aftercare instructions to yield the best results.

Importance
Retouches are important because they stretch out the longevity of the original procedure. Without retouches the results from the first appointment will fade in about three to six months. The type of skin that you have will also affect the retouch time as well as the healing process. Oilier skin can result in faster fading unfortunately, so retouches for microblading may need to happen more frequently. During the retouch period, your microblading technician will be able to make any changes that you deem necessary. We understand that while we try are best to accommodate your desired look during the initial procedure that the outcome can be different than expected. Once you actually visibly see how your new microblading eyebrows look on you, you may want to make minor changes to appeal to your facial features.

Physical Appearance
After the initial appointment, your eyebrows will appear to be swollen and red. This is due to the application of pigment in your skin. The semi-permanent eyebrow makeup will also appear much darker than you would prefer. This is so the pigment will attach to your skill. Too much pigmentation at first will help the color stay longer as it will fade especially at first. Your eyebrows may experience microblading scabbing as a result of the tiny cuts that are made into the eyebrow. It’s imperative that you follow all after care instructions during this time so that we can apply the retouching during the appropriate time.

Longevity
Your first touch up appointment after microblading your eyebrows will come four to six weeks after the first session. This retouch will ensure that your eyebrows will last one to three years instead of three to six months. After the first retouch, you should not need to have another retouch until a year after your first appointment.
